With the closing of 2011, we take this opportunity to say thank you to a few members for their service to and on behalf of DTW over the past few years - Joe Baldo, Bob Cannon, Marc Drucker and Doug Yount. Taking their place for the upcoming year will be Steve Lapin, David Liptz and Jack Sills.

Latest Edition of Fantasy Camp Was Best Ever!
If you weren’t there, you missed what may have been the best fantasy camp ever. Not only were we back in Dodgertown, Vero Beach where the fields were great and the facility was just as we left it in 2008, but the new additions made this edition one to remember.

Busty Named Manager of the Year
Juan Bustabad, long time camp coach and current manager of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, was named Manager of the Year for the California League.

Dodgers vs Giants, Fresno, CA March 16-18
Finally, the spring tournament with the Giants will resume this year. Since 1990, we have had a spring tournament with the Giants in either Bakersfield or Fresno. This year, we are back at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, home of the Giants’ AAA team. This is one of the most beautiful minor league fields in the nation. It is a real treat to play there and a great opportunity to see our friends from the Giants

The tournament will be held March 16-18. There will be three Dodgers teams and three Giants teams playing a round robin over the weekend. Each team will play one game per day and face a different team each day. The Saturday night banquet will be held in the stadium club at the ballpark.

Al Rosenblatt Passes At Age 94
Al Rosenblatt, father of DTW member Sid Rosenblatt, passed away on Nov 19th of heart failure. He was 94 years old.

Born and raised in New York City on the lower east side, as a kid Al would make extra money by answering the local public phone in the neighborhood and advising Bugsy Seagle that he had a phone call. Bugsy stayed in the neighborhood with a girlfriend at that time.

Goodies Available From Camp Store
Whether or not you are attending November's camp - and if not, there are a few slots remaining so it's not too late sign up - you can still pick up some stuff from the camp store.
